My female Rat Terrier Yoshi (black and white spotted) is definitely the dominate of my three dogs. Barney (rough coated Jack Russell terrier) and Oliver (Chihuahua) aka "my boys" seem like they are "soul mates" and rarely if ever do I ever observe them attempting to be the dominate one over the other. Yoshi claims EVERY new toy that enters the house and only lets the boys play with it after she tires of it. The boys have to watch her and if there are three toys she will claim them ALL. Sharing is NOT in her being.
Yoshi and Barney are tugging on the rubber chicken and Oliver is watchingThe rubber chicken is now a head and body and is Yoshi's favorite toy(s). It is rare to see Barney attempt to take it from her as in the picture above ... and when this happens it is also obvious that Yoshi is "letting him" play tug of war with her ... a game she only also rarely wants to play with Barney. Never have I seen my Chihuahua Oliver play tug with Yoshi (she does this growling thing and really sounds tough) .. and she is one tough cookie. After Yoshi got tired of their game, you can see in the picture below Oliver quickly dove in and grabbed the chicken. Barney and Oliver continued the tug of war game with Yoshi watching and in her silence "giving them permission" to play with her favorite toy. Yoshi was in a good mood this morning!
Oliver quickly retrieved the rubber chicken!
